I'm reading the book "Holy Sex" which you recommended in response to another couples question. We want to do the right thing, but we're confused. Sex, God & Marriage Introduction this little book. I am neither a biblical scholar nor a professional therapist, and I am fully aware that most of what I have written is completely contrary to popular wisdom. But I do feel the urgent need to share my certainty that Jesus’ call to a life of love, purity, honesty, and commitment is our only hope.

The book opens by studying patristic theologies of marriage, which rested on mostly implicit and often incompatible beliefs about sexual difference.

However, Roberts argues that Augustine developed a coherent theology of sexual difference, according it a shifting significance from creation to 4/5(9). Jensen attempts to lay out an understanding of Scripture that supports sex outside of marriage.

He argues against monogamy and in favor of homosexuality. In fact, at no point does the author support any, not one, traditional understanding of human sexuality.

Jensen draws heavily from various text and books on human sexuality.3/5(6). Download PDF A Theology Of Sexuality And Marriage book full free. This paper seeks to explore the theology of sexuality by using support by biblical and theological hermeneutics, as well as ethical or normative stances on the major role that sex and sexuality play in both the person as an individual and in the institution of marriage.

This short book explores the goodness of sexuality as created and redeemed. It suggests ways to navigate the difficulties of living in a world in which sexuality suffers the effects of the fall.

Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.“ First Corinthians [The Message Bible] To participate in a sex act outside of marriage is to go beyond what God’s Word authorises. The act of sex is restricted to the “marriage bed” and this must be kept.

The theology of the body consists of a searching analysis of biblical texts that reveal the mystery of the body, sexuality, and marriage at three critical "levels" of human experience: as man experienced them "in the beginning" before sin (Original Man); as man experiences them in human history affected by sin, yet redeemed in Christ.

A theology of sex deals with principle, not do’s and don’ts. Sex is not the random reward for marriage but carries theological design. In the theology of biblical sex, the husband and wife relate to each other as if they were part of each other’s body and the husband especially cares for his wife like he cares for his own body (Eph ,30).

Theology and Sexuality takes on one of the most controversial contemporary theological issues, providing new insights into Christian arguments about the body. Discussions cover homosexuality, the meaning and perception of the body in community, and the fittingness of the Christian tradition for marriage-like homosexual relationships.5/5(1).

It was at this point that Michael realized NFP was not moral birth control; rather, it is a complete way of life honoring one’s spouse’s sexuality and fertility.

It is loving naturally – the way God designed it. In studying NFP in the context of the Theology of the Body, both of us have become more open to each other, to God, and to children. Topics such as sex before marriage, meaning of sex, and type of sexual acts between man and wife will be discussed utilizing research from a theological prospective and as it applies to modern times and societal representations.
